Whānau Āwhina Plunket people are at the heart of what we do, our frontline kaimahi impact the lives of whānau from across Aotearoa on a day to day basis, providing reassurance and clinical advice in homes, clinics and in community settings.
We are looking for an engaging, experienced HR practitioner to join our HR Business Partnering team, with a great leader. This is a full time permanent position, ideally based in Auckland, but we are open to any location in New Zealand for the right candidate.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
This is an exciting time to join Whānau Āwhina Plunket, you will support new initiatives to transform our culture and support managers as we transition into new ways of working to deliver on the priorities of Te Pae Tata (Health reforms).
You will have great opportunities to coach senior managers across all stages of the employee lifecycle including change processes, complex HR matters, and leading the delivery of organisational development initiatives. This is a broad HR role that will provide you with great opportunities to get involved in all aspects of generalist work.
Incorporating our pro-equity principles into our people plan adds another dimension to this mahi, ensuring this position has plenty of variety and complexity to keep it interesting.

As a confident HR professional you have strong experience engaging and partnering at a senior level. You will have experience in delivering key initiatives which grow the capability and confidence of managers to lead change, lift performance and drive accountability. You’ll also have skills in succession planning anddeveloping retention initiatives, along with the delivery of learning and development and well-being programmes.
You will be proactive, change orientated and have a positive, forward-thinking approach. Your relationship building skillset and ability to coach, develop and influence will be key in supporting and empowering our people leaders to forge ahead living our values daily; kia māia – to be courageous, kia Māhaki – to be humble, kia manaaki – to care and kia tūhono – to stand in relationship.
